As of this writing, it is not clear why the child remained in the parked car for two hours and why all of the windows were rolled up despite high temperatures outside.

“Temperatures at that time here outside were in the high 90s, 97, 98, and so you can imagine the temperatures in the vehicle are going to be well, well above 100,” Christensen confirmed.

“It sounds as if he was picked up and brought here by a staff member. Somehow there was multiple individuals who were brought here by that staff member.”

“That’s part of what we’re trying to figure out is how and why he was still in the vehicle, we’re not completely certain on that. The vehicle was turned off, all the windows were rolled up and all the doors were closed,” the police lieutenant said in an interview with KUTV.

According to Christensen, “everybody involved is taking this very hard” and Roost Services remains cooperative with the investigation.
