In Belarus, children were hurled off after a powerful burst of wind blew the bouncy castles pulling them up in the air while spinning in circles.
In a horrifying incident, three bouncy castles went out of control after strong winds carried them off the ground during a festival.
The incident occurred in the northern town of Alexandria, where children were playing on the bouncy castles stationed there during the event.
The children can be heard screaming as the bouncy castle came loose and flew 30-feet off the ground. Some eyewitnesses said the bouncy castles were ripped from their mooring by strong winds.
Reports said that four children and three adults were injured and all of them were treated at the Shklov Central District Hospital and a girl was sent for a CT scan at Mogilev Regional Children’s Hospital.
“A boy literally tumbled out of the castle,” an eyewitness said. “He was very scared, but it seems that he was not badly injured. The castle flew over us like a balloon and was carried over a fence.”
“The second crashed into a nearby tent,” she added. “There was some kind of glass, and it broke. The owner suffered a leg injury.”
The eyewitness also added that another kid crashed into a nearby tent.
Soldiers rushed to their aid before medics were called to the scene and there are no reports of serious injuries.
“It happened literally in an instant,” another witness said. “A strong wind gusted and tore off the castles from their moorings where the children were playing. They were very scared, crying.”
“There were soldiers nearby who rushed to help,” the witness added. “Ambulances arrived quickly.”
Mogilev Pravda newspaper correspondent Igor Gubar reported that ‘huge bouncy castles, heated by the sun, suddenly rose into the air with children playing on them. One of them, according to a witness, flew over the tents.’
An investigation into the incident has now been launched by the Belarus Police. Alexandria is the hometown of the country’s authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko.
In a similar incident from last year, a 12-year-old boy in Indonesia was lifted meters into the air by a giant kite before falling 30 feet in front of a horrified crowd in Lampung.
The boy was at a high school in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung on December 1 when he was carried off into the air by the kite, which then snapped sending him crashing to the ground as the people scream in horror.
The schoolboy was left needing hospital treatment after he broke his arms in six places and needed to have two operations as confirmed by the Pringsewu Child Protection Agency. The incident was caught on camera and shared on social media.
