Pansexual- What does it really mean?

Now, let’s move on to pansexual and what it really means. It’s so much simpler if you break up the term for your easier understanding.

Pan stands for ‘all.’ Likewise, these people are attracted to all types of genders. And that means it also includes attraction towards people who are genderless or don’t have a gender.

They are described as those who get attracted to others. And sometimes, it’s without any gender involvement. And that means personality has a major role to play in their attraction.

Pansexual people don’t show attraction towards anyone and everyone. For instance, heterosexual men do not find all women attractive, and so on and so forth.

Whenever you see the prefix bi- it means ‘multiple’. Similarly, whenever you see the prefix pan- it means ‘all.’

Let’s evaluate things the simple way by using the color phenomenon. You ask your buddies what their favorite colors are. One friend says that they like all types of colors. On the other hand, other states that they like more than one color.

For the first friend, all doesn’t literally mean every single hue because they might not like beige and brown.  See, all colors refer to more than one. Likewise, more than one color doesn’t mean all.

And that’s exactly why many people believe that pan falls into the bicategory. And they simply take bi as a large category that relates to more than one. However, remember that this isn’t true. And that’s because all can never be the same as multiple.
