A record number of American citizens are at risk of being evicted from their homes as President Biden failed to attend to Nancy Pelosi’s call for an extension into the ban.
Both President and his administration reportedly failed to respond to the statement that was released by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as her leadership team that asked the executive branch to allow for an extension into the eviction moratorium.
Moreover, local news outlets confirmed how so many ‘Squad’ Democrats were camping on the steps of the Capitol as a means of protest against the inaction being shown by their own party.
The protesters could be seen yelling how the action was needed and it was absolutely necessary to come from the country’s administration. For this reason, so many members of the House as well as the Congress are pushing forward for an extension which doesn’t seem to bother the President, explained another protester.
As the deadline for the moratorium has ended, so many Americans which include figures going up to millions are now in danger of being removed from their homes.
So many people were of the opinion that as the CDC doubles down upon the mask-wearing as well as vaccination status, both reason and science prove how they must also make efforts towards an extension into the ban.
For those who may not be aware, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made it mandatory during the early period of the pandemic about the implementation of an eviction moratorium that literally banned all landlords from removing citizens from homes.
But since that ban has come to an end, millions now face eviction, until and unless the President calls upon Congress to extend the ban. Moreover, only recently, protesters gathered outside of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s residence and placed an eviction notice on her main door.
They felt it was her responsibility to help the citizens but now, it appears that the decision rests on Biden’s shoulders to pave way for a miracle extension or allow millions of evictions.
