A 7-month-old baby boy has tragically died after being left inside a car for two hours.
Paramedics and police rushed to the car which was parked outside JCPenney at Superstition Springs Center in Arizona.
The little boy was found unresponsive inside the vehicle. Temperatures in the shade were close to 100F that day, with heat inside the car quickly rising the moment the air conditioning and engine were turned off.
By the time the emergency services were called, the 7-month-old baby was no longer breathing.
Fire crews tried to revive the boy and rushed him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to reports, it was the baby’s mother who found him sitting still in the vehicle and called the emergency services.
No charges have yet been filed against the mother, who hasn’t explained why she decided to leave her baby in the vehicle for two hours.
This is the first reported car death of a child in Arizona this year, Fox 10 reported.
In April, a baby girl was rushed to a hospital after her mother left her in a hot car for many hours. Her mother, 35-year-old Cristina Valente, was charged with child abuse and negligence but the charges were later dropped.
One person commented: “I don’t get it, you don’t forget to lock your car, or take your phone or bag with you. Yet people keep ‘forgetting ‘ their child is still in there. The child they put in the car in the first place.”
Another wrote: “I have a dog and I take it everywhere with me and I leave mine running while in the store!!! I just take an extra key to use at least they could let the air run, you know they just didn’t forget them RIP lil angel.”
