A six-year-old girl was sexually abused decades ago by an aristocrat Simon Howard, but the man was able to avoid prison after being declared medically unfit to stand trial.
The 65-year-old man is accused of abusing a 6-year-old little girl at one of the famous stately homes in the United Kingdom many years ago. The judge has announced that the man has irreplaceable brain injuries, and because of brain damage, he could not stand trial or be given a custodial sentence.
When the victim contacted the authorities and accused that the man of the rape attempt, he ‘genuinely’ fell in the house resulting in ‘severe’ brain damage suddenly. The incident occurred a long time ago at Castle Howard; the North Yorkshire stately home used to film hit Netflix series Bridgerton.
After a trial at York Crown Court, the jury concluded that Simon Howard sexually assaulted the minor between 1980 and 1990 and incited her to commit an act of gross indecency. At that time, the victim’s family didn’t report anything to the police because of Simon Howard’s social standing.
Proclaiming about the night of the horrible crime, the woman said that Simon Howard came into her bedroom while she was sleeping. He woke her up to ask at which time she would like to have her breakfast. Then he pinned her down and sexually assaulted her. She ran to the bathroom but was again abused by him after some time. The victim was horrified to no end.
Elaborating more about it, the victim told the police that the most horrible part of that incident was the behavior of her family, who didn’t do anything to keep her safe. Nobody was able to do speak against Simon, and she was traumatized for a long time after the incident.
Simon Howard married a woman named Annette Scruff Howard in the early 1980s. After 16 years, the marriage ended, and Simon remarried a woman soon after it. Rebecca, Simon’s second wife, has 2 children with him, and the couple moved to Welham Hall after some clashes in their ancestral house.
