A harrowing incident unfolded in Berlin recently where an Afghan man reportedly attacked a woman several times.
Local media reports claim that the man did not like or agree with the fact that the victim was a ‘working woman’ and that’s when he thought it was okay to stab her several times in the neck.
The woman was identified as a 58-year-old female landscape gardener who hails from the Wilmersdorf district which is situated in Berlin, confirmed media outlets. But the stabbing spree for the suspect did not end just there. Yes, he even went about stabbing another 66-year-old man who attempted to assist the woman while she was being attacked.
Now, both victims are undergoing surgery after receiving wounds from the sharp weapon in the suspect’s hands.
Police reports suggest how the attack took place on Saturday while the female gardener was working at the park. But as soon as she looked a little further, the attacker jumped in and began stabbing her with a knife ruthlessly.
On that note, another bystander stepped in after watching the tragic incident unfold. He immediately rushed in to assist the woman in breaking free from the horrifying attacker. But instead, he was also stabbed in the neck by the Afghan man too.
Police also spoke about how the attacker first went up to the woman and began talking to her.point 194 | But then all of a sudden, things took a turn for the worst and he stabbed her multiple times in the neck with his knife.point 292 |
Both the victim’s as well as the helper’s identities are yet to be revealed as investigations into the case continue.point 110 | 1
Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office in Berlin claims that the attacker was immediately arrested on charges relating to murder attempts as well as aggravated assault. But they also boldly added how the suspect was not renowned as a threat towards the respective authorities.
