A Fox News weatherman was severely beaten after stepping in to protect an elderly man from a group of teens.
37-year-old Adam Klotz of Fox News came across a group of six to seven teenage bullies as he took the subway after enjoying a New York Giants game at a bar on Sunday.
As the weatherman explained, he noticed the group harassing an elderly man when he called out to them and told them to leave him alone only to get targeted by the bullies instead.
“Coming home last night from watching the [New York] Giants game at a bar, on the subway, this older gentleman was being hassled by this group of seven or eight teens,” Klotz revealed.
“I was like, ‘Yo, guys, cut that out.’ And they decided, ‘Alright, he’s not gonna get it, then you’re going to get it,’ and boy did they give it to me. They had me on the ground, my ribs are all kinds of bruised up too. They got their hits in.”
He added: “I got X-rays. I’m OK. This is all going to heal. So, it’s all good. You should see the other guy. My side is so much worse than my face, and the thing is the other guy is not really a guy. It’s children. Five or six children.”
As the New York Post has since confirmed, a police source informed the publication that three of the teenagers aged between 15 and 17 were apprehended by the police after assaulting Klotz.
“Juvenile reports were prepared, and their parents were called to pick them up,” the NYPD source said.
The news comes after a sharp, 30% increase in transit crime in the Big Apple in the last year.
