WNBA star Brittney Griner is speaking out for the first time ever since her release from a Russian prison.
Griner was seen displaying a very humble and grateful attitude to the Biden administration, whom she boldly thanked for their relentless efforts in striking a deal with Russia for her safe return.
Griner similarly shed light on her plans to return to the Phoenix Mercury this upcoming season. She similarly offered to use her platform to help President Biden bring home more prisoners.
In the same way, the WNBA star started to mention how the White House is now busy and committed to bringing back home former US Marine Paul Whelan. He is currently incarcerated in Russia.
Griner then took to her account on Instagram to highlight how good she feels to be back home. She added how the past ten months have been a battle at every single turn.
She adds how she really dug deep to keep her faith and it was the love from so many of her fans and followers and well-wishers that kept her strong during this time.
“From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for every turn in this world and for your help throughout this difficult phase in my life”- she explained.
The entire prisoner swap fiasco is one that really turned into a major controversy with the Republicans calling out the Democrats on the matter.
As Griner has mentioned time and time again, she is still in the whole process of making her way back home from Fort Hood which is located in Texas. She has been there under a medical team’s observation, sources have confirmed. And she is super excited to kickstart her career in basketball again.
