A family says they were left heartbroken after officials opted to remove a memorial bell located at a local Christmas attraction.
Sources revealed how a three-year-old boy named Joseph Yeandle died from the most aggressive form of cancer after Christmas. Therefore, in the loving memory of the child, the family put out that ornament. But little did they know that brutal officials would go about removing it soon.
The bell was recently muffled to stop kids from ringing it following a complaint linked to noise pollution.
Doctors gave the young victim a 50% chance at survival after he was diagnosed with the most aggressive type of cancer which is stage four high-risk neuroblastoma. He had been taken into the intensive care unit on Christmas Eve his condition had relapsed.
Therefore, this bell has plenty of symbolic meaning and representation at the Amman Valley Christmas Experience and is super important to the family. It is one of Joseph’s final experiences in the days before he had been readmitted to the hospital as the bell was bringing on the ride.
The family similarly broke down into tears when they mentioned how they had hoped the little cancer victim would be the one to ring the bell after his treatment ended. They hoped it would be a symbolic representation of him being a survivor but tragically, that was not the case.
He just never got the chance but the family didn’t expect the bell to be removed completely.
“It was definitely one of the last things that Joseph ever got to do. When you have a child who has been diagnosed with such an aggressive form of disease like cancer, the one thing you’d aim for is him ringing that bell. But his cancer relapsed and it never happened”- the heartbroken mom added.
