A toddler will be forced to grow up without his beloved mom after she was struck and killed by a car just outside her home.
22-year-old Sharmayne Fisher from Perth, Australia, was walking from her home to a local 7-Eleven in Midvale when she was hit by a car at around 10.30 pm on Friday.
According to the reports, the young mom was just over a mile away from her home and her baby, who was being watched by the young lady’s mother at the time, when the vehicle plowed into her.
“I can’t believe what’s happened, very, very sad. I’m so sorry for the mother and the son too,” Nasser Malak, Fisher’s landlord and friend, said while dubbing the young mom a “beautiful girl.”
He went on to reveal that his family and Fisher’s would celebrate birthdays together and let their children bond.
“[She was a] very beautiful girl, very good girl, very serious girl, straightforward. I looked after her like a younger sister,” he added.
While an ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after Fisher was struck by a car, the 22-year-old died before she could receive any help.
Meanwhile, the police apprehended the 32-year-old woman who was driving the car and tested her for alcohol and drugs.
It is currently unclear whether the driver, who was not injured, will face any charges or what those charges will be.
Following the mother’s tragic passing, Fisher’s close friend revealed she drove past the scene of the crash shortly after the incident.
She didn’t, however, know of her friend’s passing until she ran rang her phone when the first responders were already on the scene.
Our thoughts are with Sharmayne’s family and friends during this challenging time.
