Ukraine has confirmed the annihilation of four Russian helicopters in yet another major blow to President Vladimir Putin and his inhumane invasion.
Between 8.40 am and 8.58 am yesterday morning, the Ukrainian armed forces shot four helicopters, presumably the Soviet-era KA-52 models, out of the sky in Southern Ukraine.
Following the military success, the officials boasted of having a “productive morning, Ukrainian style” on social media.
“From 8:40 a.m. to 8.58 On October 12, in the south of Ukraine, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force destroyed at least four enemy attack helicopters (probably Ka-52), which were providing fire support to the ground occupation troops in the southern direction,” Ukrainian Air Force announced on Telegram.
“According to preliminary data, one helicopter fell on the territory freed from militants, the rest – behind the [Russian] front line.”
The Air Force also confirmed that two more Russian helicopters sustained combat damage and that there is a “high probability” they, too, have been rendered useless.
The aircraft were reportedly destroyed in the south of the country where Ukrainian troops are battling to retake regions occupied by the invaders.
Confirming the news was also Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense who suggested the destroyed helicopters were KA-52 models also known as Alligators.
“Productive morning, Ukrainian style. Today, in just 18 minutes, service members of #UAarmy shot down 4 Russian helicopters that were spoiling beautiful autumn skies in the south of Ukraine,” officials wrote.
“No place for Alligators here. The local climate is hostile towards them.”
The move comes days after Putin forcefully annexed four regions in the south and east of the country following sham elections and vowed to defend these territories at any cost.
