The 39-year-old woman who was brutally killed by a great white shark while on a holiday with her family has been identified.
Kimon Bisogno, a restaurant owner, went on a trip to Plettenberg Bay in South Africa with her partner Diego Milesi, 40, and their daughter Luna, 5.
According to reports, the family went to the luxury Beacon Isle hotel to relax after rebuilding their business.
When the mother went into the water that was only waist deep, a great white shark suddenly attacked her through a wave.
Horrified witnesses said the water around Kimon ‘turned red’ and other swimmers ran away while screaming.
The inshore craft from the National Sea Rescue Institute arrived on the scene and found the woman’s body floating about one meter from where she was attacked.
According to reports, the great white shark attack was so brutal that nothing could be done to save her.
A post-mortem will be carried out and an inquest will be held. Her grieving family have also been offered trauma counseling.
Kimon’s friend took to Facebook and wrote: “I have scrolled through your page over and over again and hoping that it is a mistake. I don’t know how the world could let someone like you go too soon but what I do know is that anyone that you met you touched their life with your love.
“The world truly lost a bright shining light and pure soul who left happiness, laughter, glitter and kindness where ever you went. You were so genuine with so much love in your heart.”
Another heartbroken friend wrote: “Such sad news. I will remember your joyous, infectious laugh forever. RIP Kimon – too good for this earth.”
