A groom who told her sister to stop breastfeeding her two-month-old baby at his wedding has been slammed online.
The man took to Reddit and said that he ‘lost his cool’ when he saw her sister breastfeeding her baby during the reception as he thought that it was inappropriate.
He then told her that she should have been ‘more thoughtful’ than to breastfeed her baby ‘in front of 250 guests.’
“My sister gave birth two months ago. She brought the baby to my wedding,” he wrote. “She breastfeeds wherever she goes. I’ve never spoken on it because I know she’ll get mad and offended but when she did that on my wedding I lost my cool.”
When he saw his sister breastfeeding her baby during the reception, he asked her why she did not bring formula milk or pump her milk out. The sister said that she didn’t have to as she feels more “comfortable breastfeeding.”
“I said she could just make this sacrifice and compromise for one day instead of doing this in front of 250 guests at my wedding. She then said she can’t do much about it now because the baby has to have her milk.”
The groom told his sister that she was embarrassing herself by breastfeeding in front of more than 200 people.
But when he told his wife about the ‘problem,’ she immediately demanded he apologize to her.
“I told my wife what the deal was and she said I’m an a****** and should immediately apologize to my sister. My parents also sided with my sister and now pretty much everyone thinks I’m an a****** since I’m the only person who had a problem with it.”
People on Reddit were also quick to criticize the groom, with one angry person commenting: “Feeding a child is not poor etiquette. There’s something wrong with you if you feel a woman breastfeeding is an affront to you. Grow up before you have a child.”
Another wrote: “The only tacky person with bad etiquette is you.”
