Tragic news reports have confirmed the death of a 36-year-old father who reportedly hung himself by mistake, in an attempt to try and scare his lover.

According to sources from local media outlets, Phillip Burns accidentally hanged himself after he spent a night out in Cumbria recently.

It is believed the couple had just gotten done watching episodes of the Netflix hit series American Horror Stories but little did they know that they would be living their own nightmare, just moments later.

The victim’s partner says the 36-year-old seemed to be in a funny mood and hence he wished to scare his partner by pranking her, right after the duo finished watching an episode where something similar had been done.

“We were having a good laugh and then everything took a turn for the worse”- his fiancee Michelle Evans explained in a heartbroken tone.

After the tragedy, cops were called in and the victim’s body was taken for an autopsy to determine the cause of his death. And that’s when medical experts found high amounts of alcohol in his blood and also traces of cocaine too.

Michelle explained to the court how her husband was fooling around and when she turned around to see what he was up to, she saw him hanging with his backside towards the living room’s door.

She immediately tried to break him free and called the paramedics for help but it was just too late. He was gone. One simple incident took his life away in a fraction of a second.

The victim’s fiancee agreed that the duo did have one drink too many but this was definitely not what she had imagined being the end result.

Now, she is forced to live with the reality of seeing her lover die, right in front of her eyes, after a silly incident took his life.
