The mother of the Highland Park shooter who killed seven in the Fourth of July mass shooting has a lengthy rap sheet.
Denise Pesina, the mother of mass murderer Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III, has seen her share of charges, it has been revealed after her 21-year-old son was charged with seven counts of first-degree murder.
According to police reports, Pesina was charged with child endangerment back in 2002 after leaving her then-2-year-old son alone in a hot car for nearly half an hour.
The incident took place in a parking lot of a toy store, whereas court documents show that there were 80 degrees outside when the child was left alone in his mother’s car with windows rolled up. Following the incident, Pesina was found guilty of child endangerment.
Meanwhile, it has also come to light that the police were called to the Crimos’ family home on nine occasions between 2010 and 2014 while responding to reports of domestic violence.
Among these instances is the 2010 argument between Pesina and her husband, Bob Crimo Jr., which allegedly resulted in Bob getting hit in the head with his drunken partner’s shoe.
Crimo Jr. told the police that his marriage was “failing” and that his wife was intoxicated. She fought back saying he had been belittling and disrespecting her.
In another incident of the same year, Pesina was accused of “trash talking” her husband and striking him with a screwdriver. Once again, however, the mother argued that her actions were a result of Crimo Jr.’s “mean statements.”
Reports also show that the police responded to the family home two times over reports of attempts to drive while intoxicated. On these occasions, the issue devolved into a domestic dispute once the police arrived on the scene.
Court records further reveal that Pesina pleaded guilty to DUI back in 2012.
The shocking truth is revealed shortly after it came to light that Crimo III applied for a gun permit – with the help of his father who provided a consent form – in 2019, just two months after police responded to the family’s home after the young man threatened to “kill everyone” in his family.
At the time, no arrests were made. The police did, however, seize Crimo’s weapons collection including 16 knives, a sword, and a dagger.
