The 37-year-old father who took his own life after he accidentally left his 18-month-old son inside a hot car when he went to work has been pictured.

Aaron Beck reportedly shot himself in the woods on June 28 after he saw his lifeless son in the vehicle.

The boy’s family immediately called the police when the child did not make it to daycare. The family also told officers that the father had made suicidal remarks.

Chesterfield Police Lt. Col. Christopher Hensley said: “Upon their arrival, they located the people in the driveway with an open door with an empty child seat in the vehicle. As they made entry into the residence, they found a deceased 18-month-old.”

Beck’s body was later found where the family said he would be. Police think that he went to work in the morning and forgot to drop the toddler off at daycare as temperatures in the area reached 80F.

“Anderson’s and Aaron’s lives were interwoven in life and death. (Aaron) sacrificed his life to his son in an act of profound devotion and love,” the obituary reads.

Aaron is remembered as a man whose “focus was his son, Anderson, to whom he gave enormous and endless love. He was generous, kind, caring and soft with his son. The selflessness of his love was a testament to the possibilities of fatherhood, to the possibilities of the heart.”

The child is remembered as being the “brightest light that brought his family together.

“He was a beautiful, outgoing and intelligent little boy that lived in a family that was full of love and promise.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the grieving family of the two, Aaron’s stepsister Lauren Riegel shared.

Riegel took to Facebook and wrote: “My stepbrother and his sweet baby passed away last week. Aaron was an amazing father and husband to his wonderful wife, Laura. She is completely shattered and has a long tough road ahead of her.”

“Just seeing that a lot of people care, no matter the amount, will do wonders for her healing,” she added.
