Shocking reports are coming in from Philadephia where two cops were reportedly shot at the Welcome America Festival.

According to sources, the incident took place just hours after the horror at Highland Park unfolded during the Fourth of July celebrations. During that tragedy, at least six people were killed and dozens injured when a young gunman opened fire on the crowds.

This particular incident is believed to have taken place near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway where thousands of people were seen celebrating the Fourth of July concert and a brilliant display of fireworks. 

Gunfire erupted all of a sudden and that created a scene of panic and absolute chaos as bullets were heard all around. Hence, the crowd began to run in all directions.

Meanwhile, a video was being shot from a number of nearby buildings that featured people running in all directions along the main road. And as a result, there was absolute panic as they tried to take shelter. 

Sources claim this incident to be the 309th tragedy relating to gunfire to have erupted this year. On the other hand, horrifying footage was captured by witnesses that showed people running alongside the main road in a state of nothing but panic with the sounds of screams filling the air as they feared the worst. 

Thankfully, both members of the police force that were injured in the incident were rushed to a local nearby hospital on time and that’s when their injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. Hence, they were released from the medical center, soon afterward. 

One of the 36-year-old officers received a graze wound to his head while the other police officer suffered from a gunshot injury to his right shoulder. Hence, the cops are still looking for the shooter at large. 

The shooting is believed to have taken place just moments after a gunman started to blindly aim his weapon at families that were busy waving flags and young kids who happened to be enjoying the festivities of the Fourth of July Parade in a Chicago suburb.
