A teacher who managed to survive the terrifying school shooting that took place in Texas last week says she’s haunted by the gunman’s image and can’t seem to get him out of her mind.
“Just that face is terrorizing. I saw him and I just can’t seem to get him out of my mind. It’s haunting, it’s chilling, it’s terrifying for me. What he did to so many innocent children, is beyond heartbreaking”- the teacher revealed.
“I can close my eyes and see him with that big gun of his. He’s walking up to the same school that I work at and then he begins executing innocent victims”- the teacher named Nicole Ogburn revealed.
Speaking for an emotional interview on the Today Show, the fourth-grade teacher says although she’s grateful to be alive today, she can’t even begin to imagine what 21 families are going through after the loss of their loved ones.
She also believed that something needed to be done in terms of gun control legislation before it was too late.
“It is something that haunts me and I’m telling you that I am not quite sure that I’ll ever be able to forget something like this”- she explained.
President Biden recently visited the Texas Elementary School and gave hints about how it might be razed. Therefore, the teacher felt that it was a smart decision because she couldn’t even begin to imagine anyone returning back to a place where so many people lost their lives.
The teacher who is a native of Uvalde also spoke about how she spotted the gunman after hearing alarming sounds of gunshots being fired into the air. And those chilling sounds are also a feature that will haunt her forever.
