US Vice President Kamala Harris is calling for a ban on all weapons-related to assault, as she confirmed during a recent press conference how there was no room for such gadgets in a civilized society.
According to local media reports, the vice president shed light on the recent tragic elementary school massacre that rocked Uvalde Texas where 19 students and two teachers had been killed in an executive manner by a teenage gunman.
Harris was recently in Buffalo, New York when she called for the issuance of a ban on the alarming matter before it was too late.
The vice president of the US was in attendance at one of the funerals for the victims.
And that’s when she felt the time was right to make a move and issue the ban, which she believes should have been done in the past. Before the devastating school shooting, a supermarket in Buffalo had been attacked by another gunman who claimed to be inspired to kill all black people as he felt they had no place in today’s American society. The gunman used his rifle to conduct the attack and even live steamed his execution-style killings.
“As far as the issue relating to a ban on guns is concerned, I have mentioned previously that we are trying to find a long-term solution for the matter and we’re no longer going to sit around and figure out what the solution will look like.
Something needs to be done now!”- the vice president was heard commenting during her visit.
Kamala Harris concluded by mentioning how assault weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only. And that was related to killing human beings. Therefore, she claims in a civilized society, there needs to be zero tolerance regarding their use.
