Johnny Depp’s fans took to social media to celebrate after Kate Moss testified and shut down ’20 years of gossip’ in less than four minutes.
The supermodel, who dated the Pirates of the Caribbean star between 1994 to 1998, refuted Amber Heard’s claim that he had pushed her down a flight of stairs while they were in Jamaica.
The Aquaman star previously told the court that she feared her ex-husband would push her sister down the stairs during a heated argument, saying that she had “thought of Kate Moss and stairs.”
But Moss has finally debunked the decades-old rumor when she appeared via a live video from Gloucestershire, England.
She explained that she went on a vacation with Depp in Jamaica, where the alleged attack on her was said to have happened.
But the supermodel recalled what really happened and said: “We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain.
“He came running back to help me, carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”
When asked by Depp’s attorney, Benjamin Chew, if Depp pushed her down the stairs, Moss shook her head and replied: “No.”
“During the course of the relationship did he ever push you down the stairs?” Chew asked, to which Moss replied: “No. He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs.”
Her testimony sparked positive reactions on social media and she was branded a ‘model of love’ who came to Edward Scissorhand star’s rescue almost 25 years after their relationship ended.
Twitter user @busyxxchick said: “Kate Moss testified in like 4 minutes debunked years of Amber Heard’s rumor about Johnny pushing her down the stairs.”
“Kate Moss: *logs on. You’re a f****** liar and keep my name out your mouth. *Log off. That’s basically what happened,” @lifeisasoundtrack wrote.
“Kate Moss effectively told us that Johnny Depp did like James Bond at Goldeneye resort in Jamaica and carried her up the stairs to her room and called for medical help. #gentleman,” @DeGreer posted.
“Kate Moss appearance was short but effective in my opinion. All they need her for is to shut down ant speculation that JD ever hurt her,” another added.
“That Kate Moss testimony was arguably the shortest and most effective testimony ever,” someone else wrote.
