Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly launched a fresh wave of deadly attacks in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
According to local media reports, Putin has ordered Russian troops to make use of chemical weapons in the form of banned phosphorous bombs. The exact location was identified as the Azovstal steel plant where shocking aerial footage is now making the viral rounds on social media, showing the deadly nature of the incident.
As bombs fall down, it has resulted in heavy damage to the buildings shown below while sources revealed how the current conditions in the area are extremely hostile.
Other reports spoke about Ukrainian soldiers being trapped inside the giant steel plant with no way to exit.
The soldiers are standing guard as the final showdown to prevent Russian troops from advancing forward. On the other hand, the wives and children of the soldiers stranded inside claim they are fearing for the worst, adding how they strongly believe the standoff will not last long.
Horrifying images released from the area show the buildings being reduced down to the ground to rubble amid heavy fire and shelling. There is some news about civilians who are also taking shelter inside while the majority had already been evacuated this past month due to the fears surrounding the invasion.
The Red Cross stepped in previously to help evacuate as many people as they could from the Donbas region, citing fears of mass destruction after Russian troops had issued an ultimatum to surrender or face the consequences.
More footage from the attack shows the exact moment when a giant Russian missile explodes into two, mid-air.
This incident is clear evidence of how Putin will not back down and is very keen on taking over Mariupol as it is the city most drastically affected by the ongoing conflict.
