The weapon used by two schoolboys who killed their 66-year-old Spanish teacher after stalking and ambushing her has been revealed.
Willard Miller and Jeremy Goodale, both 16, reportedly used a baseball bat to kill Nohema Graber in November 2021.
Court documents reveal that the Iowa teacher left school and went to a local park at around 4 pm. Her vehicle was then driven out of the park 42 minutes later, and it was followed by a truck.
Documents also said that Goodale’s friend showed investigators Snapchat messages that indicated Miller and Goodale “were involved in the planning, execution, and disposal of evidence” related to the 66-year-old teacher’s death.
Reports also said that one of the teens was seen pushing a wheelbarrow into the park where Graber was killed.
Graber, who was teaching at Fairfield High School, was found lifeless under a wheelbarrow, tarp, and tires.
Documents did not disclose any possible motive, with police holding further information back.
Goodale’s messages described how the two stalked the teacher and that a baseball bat was used to kill her.
The Snapchat messages also included the body’s location, where her vehicle was parked, and how they clean and disposed of the evidence, court documents reveal.
Authorities previously confirmed that Graber had suffered ‘inflicted trauma to the head.’
Miller and Goodale are both charged as adults as required by court procedures in Iowa, which say anyone 16 or older charged with a forcible felony is automatically waived to adult court “and is subject to the same criminal procedures and penalty as adults.”
If convicted as adults, they would likely serve lengthy jail sentences. But if transferred to juvenile court, they would be released from custody when they turn 18.
