A pregnant drug runner has been busted in the US after trying to smuggle fentanyl inside her private part.

According to local media reports, the pregnant woman was carrying around 0.26 pounds of fentanyl that had been placed inside her vagina.

But when she arrived in the US, the officials at the customs noticed something bizarre. And that’s when they requested her to remove a condom placed over her vagina that carried the drug.

The suspect has been identified as a 19-year-old woman who was two months pregnant. She was a part of the three-drug runners caught in the latest incident while entering through the southern border from Mexico into Texas, as revealed by local media outlets recently.

The 19-year-old was immediately called out for inspection by the customs officials, she was later identified to be a US citizen.

Over the past two weeks, officials positioned at the border have been busy carrying out strict checks to ensure such people are caught and dealt with according to law.

Reports released by the US Customs and Border Protection Officers that worked at El Paso’s ports of entry have revealed how they’ve come across plenty of individuals who try to sneak into the US with the drugs wrapped around their bodies, so they don’t get caught.

“It is just so tragic to witness all of this. They are willing to put themselves into such dangerous conditions themselves”- revealed the CBP El Paso director recently who heads the field operations.

“What so many people don’t realize is how this synthetic opioid carries a significant amount of strength and if this package was to rupture inside an individual’s body, the consequences could potentially be life-threatening”- the director went on to explain.
