New and striking revelations are coming through about the deadly shooting that took place on the movie set of Rust.
A prosecutor from New Mexico says that actor Alec Baldwin may have fired the shot that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins but without pulling the gun’s trigger.
The news was recently announced by the District Attorney of Santa Fe named Mary Carmack-Altwies who spoke to Vanity Fair.
She claims to have watched the interview of Alect Baldwin very carefully and said there were plenty of bombshell revelations made there and then in December.
Moreover, she added how drawn she became when she learned that the actor was so confident that he did not pull the trigger.
“You can pull the hammer back without actually pulling the gun’s trigger and without actually locking it”- the District Attorney claimed.
“So you can pull it back partway and this way, it does not lock and then if you let it go, the firing pin can hit the primer of the bullet”- she carried on.
Actor Alec Baldwin has been insisting since December that he did not pull the gun’s trigger.
The interview that was aired by ABC in December had the celeb mentioning: “I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never”- explained the actor from “30 Rock”.
Carmack-Altwies reportedly launched a major but unofficial investigation of her own regarding the tragic shooting incident to test the actor’s bold claims.
She says that she never knew too much about guns in the first place, especially the kind that was used on the set of the movie Rust.
For that reason, she took great interest in her investigation and analyzed with experts would have actually taken place that day, which resulted in one person dying and another getting injured.
Now, she’s concluding how the hammer is probably what caused the live round inside the gun to fire but the official results from one FBI analysis of the actual weapon are currently pending, confirmed local media sources.
