A high school science teacher in Melbourne has been charged and arrested by the police for selling prohibited drugs to her students during after-school hours.
The accused was identified as 42-year-old Lauren Russell who was caught in the horrifying act at her workplace which was revealed by authorities to be the Lucas Heights Community School in the Australian city of Sydney.
Police have gone on to allege how she contacted the students herself and supplied them with cannabis with absolute ease and convenience.
Lauren who teaches physics to high school students was bombarded with cops at her residence after they received news about her illegal affairs on school premises.
The police have accused the suspect of only contacting those students that she knew or had taught and then went about supplying them with the drug after the class was over.
The mother of three chose the hours between 3 pm and 6 pm to hand out the specific drug as stated in the documents tendered to the Local Court in Sutherland.
Lauren failed to attend her first court appearance that was reportedly scheduled on Wednesday. However, her lawyer did make it a point to apply for a four-week-long adjournment on her behalf.
The accused teacher first began working as a teacher at the high school in the year 2014 and since then, continued to work as one of their permanent members. But little did the administration realize what she was doing behind the scenes.
Sources claim that the school’s newsletter that welcomed her to the educational institution spoke about how swiftly she managed to build a good reputation with her students in the classroom as well as other faculty members.
The teacher was originally said to be from Maryland in the US where she lived with her husband and three children.
