The first urinal for women with no doors is getting ready for its launch in the United Kingdom.
While the terms urinal and females usually don’t go hand in hand, it now appears that the UK is ready for a mega change that’s sure to revolutionize public bathrooms forever.
In case you’re wondering who is behind the first urinal, well, you can express your gratitude for Amber Probyn and Hazel McShane whose creative design minds have brought forward a fool-proof idea.
The new design is being deemed six times faster or more efficient than a regular restroom.
On the other hand, the duo behind the ordeal says they came up with the brilliant concept after being sick and tired of queuing for public restrooms for females at festivals. This way, the new alternative can now bring about a new sense of relief for so many across the board.
As a whole, the creators won nearly £250,000 in funding for the revolutionary project during their first round of investment so that they can continue with the design’s rollout and its expansion across the country.
Amber and Hazer are referring to the invention as a hands-free ‘peequal’ that is a part of their master project at the University of Bristol that is sure to solve a ‘real-life problem’.
The unique design features no doors and no roof, complete with a total of six units that come inside a circular pizza-like structure.
With this urinal, women can now squat over instead of sitting down. But the clever positioning of curved walls blocks outside viewers from looking in. However, the walls are quite short and that means women present inside the urinal can look over the top while they are carrying on with their business.
