A shoplifter has managed to flee with commodities from a convenience store in Queens, right after stabbing the manager.
The crime rate in New York City has reached an all-time high as more and more terrifying reports about incidents like these continue to occur on a daily basis.
Just yesterday, one woman was mugged at knifepoint in the Upper part of Manhattan during the rush hours in a subway station.
This horrifying stabbing incident took place on Tuesday during the afternoon hours when the culprit managed to swiftly escape with hair products and cough medicine that he robbed from the store.
Local media outlets claim that the store’s manager was immediately rushed to a local nearby hospital. Thankfully, he is being described to be stable but under medical observation.
This is being termed as the latest incident of daylight thefts that continue to take over New York by storm as robberies go up by nearly 35% since the previous year.
Just last month, another shoplifter had been arrested while trying to walk out from a store with several bags loaded with merchandise at a store in Rego Park in Queens.
It clearly stands in deep contrast with other similar incidents as all of those robbers made a clean getaway with products worth hundreds and thousands from a Louis Vuitton store as the security guard just watched on in silence.
After the horrifying news, actor and star comedian Michael Rapaport was quick to condemn the incident as well as the sudden rise in crime, right after he finished filming another burglar attack in Manhattan where another man just walked away.
New York is seeing a massive increase in shoplifting since 2020 with many experts claiming a 25% rise when compared to the previous years.
