A young and bright teen from Texas is fighting for his life in the ICU after his fellow teammates lured him out of a party so they could carry out a brutal assault.
According to media reports, 16-year-old Cole Hagan was a bright and enthusiastic football player who happened to be attending a house party with his fellow teammates in Lake Jackson. But little did he know that those he once called friends would turn on him so badly that it would leave him fighting for his life.
Three teenagers who are reportedly the victim’s football teammates have been charged for beating him on the 3rd of December.
Cole suffered a number of skull fractures, alongside a broken collarbone outside of the party he was attending, during the later hours of the night.
Officials from the state police department have confirmed how 17-year-old Reid Mitchell, 17-year-old Logan Huber, and 17-year-old Ayden Holland were all arrested and then charged for conducting an aggravated assault against the victim.
After being arrested, the suspects have confessed to the crime and also spoke about how they lured him away with the excuse that his truck had been damaged.
Once the victim came outside, they all began to punch Hagan in the face, causing him to fall down on concrete, just as he received three to four elbow blows.
Following the brutal attack, the victim was rushed to Houston’s Memorial Hospital which is just 53 miles away from Lake Jackson, and that’s where he was immediately put on a ventilator for a few days. Thankfully, he has just started to breathe on his own, as revealed by his devastated parents.
At the moment, the victim’s family is offering a mega reward worth $25,000 to anyone that comes forward with video footage of the attack that was carried out that day.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and it is still unclear whether or not the suspects will be tried as adults or as juveniles.
