A man from Missouri has been found guilty of murdering his wife and then dumping her body at a park that was less than a mile away from where he proposed.
Joseph Elledge was slapped with second-degree murder charges and then recommended by the jury for a jail sentence comprising of nearly 28 years after he murdered his wife named Mengqi Ji.
Now, local media reports claim that the sentencing by the Circuit Court Judge has been scheduled for December 17th.
Meanwhile, Elledge’s attorney has gone on to speak about how the family plans on discussing the appeal, which he personally believes there is a necessary case for.
The man from Missouri has admitted to the horrifying crime and how he went about burying his beloved wife’s body at a park. Similarly, he spoke about how he misled authorities for nearly a year regarding her whereabouts, just so he could buy more time.
In addition to that, the accused spoke about how his wife’s death was ‘accidental’, adding how she was never able to get up after she fell down and hit her head. But that was just one night before he reportedly pushed her.
The jury, which comprised of seven men and five women, reached their decision after a deliberation that lasted nearly nine hours, as confirmed by media reports.
The accused also spoke about how his wife had a bad temper and the two argued a lot to help control the other’s emotions.
Shockingly, he even revealed details about how he had caught his wife exchanging messages that were s*xually oriented with another man from China.
This incident took place one day before he killed her, as revealed in the courtroom.
