Liam Scott, a 5-year-old, has been suffering from Neuroblastoma but is now treated and getting stronger every day.
After discovering about the cancer of Liam, the family of the patients started raising funds for his treatment.
A potentially life-saving vaccine was available in New York that could save his life, but the overall cost of the treatment was $232,000.
The family was not rich enough to pay all this, so they started raising funds to treat Liam’s cancer.Liam’s mother, a resident of The United Kingdom, hopes to bring the cancer vaccine treatment to her country as well.
This cancer affects more than 100 UK children every year.
The disease often needs aggressive medical intervention, and Liam, too, had to go through a long duration of painful treatment. This disease is rare, and there are very few chances of patient survival in it.
The family has revealed that raising funds was very difficult for them due to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK. Events that could help raise funds were canceled, and the family faced many issues as well. Fortunately, a local footballer Charlie Holmes helped the family and became a part of the fundraising campaign for the cancer patient.
Later a footballer Pepe Reina also gave $2,000 to the family for the treatment of the patient. All the hard work and efforts of the family bore fruit, and somehow $232,000 was raised, and the treatment was completed from New York.
The family has been traveling from the UK to the US for many months, and a special exemption on the travel ban has been given to this family because of Liam’s disease.
Now Liam is back in his country after getting the treatment and is completely cancer-free. His parents have told in an interview that he is getting healthy and strong day by day. His positive story is an inspiration for several cancer patients. If one has a supportive and caring family, then every hurdle can be removed from life.
