Netflix’s non-English show, Squid Game, is making new records and has caused an enormous traffic surge creating problems for the broadband provider.
Squid game, the talk of the town, is becoming the most-watched show on Netflix nowadays. The broadband company that provides the service to Netflix is facing multiple issues regarding high traffic because of the show. Netflix is one of the few companies that do not pay a network usage fee to its broadband provider, SK broadband company.
According to SK broadband company, many customers like Amazon and Apple pay their network usage fees on time. But no amount is paid by Netflix yet. The company has also claimed that the traffic has increased to 24 times since 2018, and now due to massive traffic surges, the company is demanding a network usage fee.
Sources have revealed that Netflix is still reviewing the claim filed against it. Furthermore, it is unveiled that the estimated usage fee for the previous year was £17 million. The production company of the Squid Game, referred to as Cyron Pictures, is also trying to get things settled with the broadband company.
Squid game is a South Korea-based show in which some people are asked to play children’s games to get a considerable amount of money.
The person who loses the game will be terminated-killed on the spot. Every task is easy, but the winning pressure and fear of death make the show enjoyable. In the end, only one person wins and gets the money. Rest are killed and no longer a part of the game.
