Australia’s star olympian showed and expressed her support for fellow olympian from the USA, Simone Biles.
She explained how she can totally relate to Biles and the way that the pressure got to her, which resulted in team USA suffering a loss against Russia. In the same way, the Australian star was quick to mention that she also allowed nerves to get the best of her. And in the end, it forced her to miss out on her country’s gold medal not once but twice in a row.
Speaking to Daily Mail in an exclusive interview, Jess Fox mentioned how she empathized with Simone as her own pressures resulted in her falling short during her first event.
Moreover, she added how she vomited before her stellar gold medal run due to the nervousness and the pressure to do well in such a high-profile competition.
For those who may not be aware, Fox is a leading name in Australian sport as well as around the globe. She not only has a total of 10 world titles to her name but she also has four giant Olympic medals too. This includes the very emotional gold medal that she received during the C1 last Thursday.
Now, the star who is termed to be the best canoe paddler in females of all time, shed light on how hard the pressure hits sometimes, and reaching the top is definitely not easy.
After making a shocking exit from the team event, Simone Biles received criticism across the board as she opted to put her mental health before her. She felt that it was high time that people stood for what they felt was the right decision and for her, it’s her mental well-being.
Right after, the young athlete did get her fair share of praise for making such a bold decision. At the same time, another member from the American squad added that no one owes anyone a gold medal, coming as a striking defense to her team member’s side.
