The unjust death of Daunte Wright has left the whole nation upset especially the Black community.
As Friday marked the 6th night of protests in Brooklyn Center for Wright’s death since no substantial move towards justice can be seen from the authorities. People are storming to the streets to march and demonstrate their anger on the issue.
Demonstrators rallied outside the police station in Minneapolis, Chicago, New York where the deadly clashes broke out between the civilians and cops. Dozens of protestors were injured and also arrested by the cops. In Chicago, officers used tear gas and kettling to scared the protestors in many cities but it only fueled the agitation.
Things totally went out of control when the law enforcement entities began pepper spraying the demonstrators and the media bodies alike outside the Brooklyn Center police station.
But in Chicago, thousands of people got together to protests the murder of 13-year old Adam Toledo at the hands of the cops.
The video of the whole incident was released last Thursday which caused the BLM protestors to agitate. The protest began around 6 pm as hundreds of people flocked to Logan Square Park to protest outside Mayor Lori’s residence. According to ABC7, the ocean of people grew bigger by 7:30 and the cops shut down intersections of Milwaukee, Diversey, and Kimball to avoid any unpleasant situation.
Nevertheless, the crowd blocked West Loop traffic and marched outside the police stations, and shouted BLM slogans to voice their protest against the recent unjust deaths of both Toledo and Wright who were killed at the hands of white cops for no reason.
It seems like locals of the city already anticipated the protests after the release of the video and hence took precautions to secure their properties from the looting. However, there were no reports of such looting and clashes with the public on Friday night except the ones with the police.
