” She further adds, “this man came out of nowhere, seemed quite polite. He asked for directions like anyone would in my peaceful county.” Ackerley lives in Little Hulton, Salford. According to her, the raider was trying to snatch away her necklace as she was helping him with directions.

“I had always heard people see stars in the daylight when they’re hit on the head.
But I experienced it today, myself. Let I tell you, it was for real like I was seeing stars since the raider hit me on the head.”But Axel; the German Shepherd came running down for her rescue that very moment. Little did he know that he’d make it to the news with the title ‘the dog saves owner 2020’.
Irrespective of that, “Axel jumps at this block, knocks him over and down on the ground. He then grabbed the man by his arm and snatches back the jewels as fast as he had hit me.” Said Joyce.

“We adopted this dog from the rescue. He’s very gentle and kind, unlike other dogs. And we never expected him to help us especially during this time but he did. He’s my HERO.” Says Joyce Ackerley.The raider ran away though but he was physically hurt by the dog.
As Ackerley said Axel had blood on his nose when he came back. Greater Manchester Police Det Con Steven Hughes stated that this attack and robbery could’ve gone really bad. In case the dog hadn’t stepped in for the rescue. He truly is a hero!
