A woman has been charged with manslaughter over the tragic death of Kim Kardashian lookalike Christina Ashten Gourkani.
Vivian Alexandra Gomez was arrested at Fort Lauderdale Airport after giving Gourkani a bum-lift procedure that allegedly led to her death.
The 24-year-old OnlyFans model, who looked like Kim Kardashian, reportedly died of cardiac arrest in hospital in California after Gomez gave her a body enhancement despite not having a license.
According to New York Post, Gomez has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and practicing without a license.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said to the Daily Post that the 50-year-old traveled to Burlinghame hotel to give the victim ‘several injections’ of ‘just silicone,’ only a day before her tragic death.
In a GoFundMe page setup for the late model, Gourkani’s grieving family wrote: “In the early morning hours at approximately 4:31am on 4/20/2023 our family received a tragic phone call from a family member who was frantically screaming and crying histaricaly on the other end of the line….
“Ashten is dying…Ashten is dying…A phone call that instantly shattered our world and will forever haunt our family for the rest of our lives.
“After arriving at the hospital shortly after the phone call our family continued living a nightmare as we were informed that her health and wellbeing had continued to decline in a downward spiral for the worse after suffering from a cardiac arrest.”
The family added: “Her sudden and tragic passing is currently being investigated as a homicide related to medical procedure that took a turn for the worse.
“For the privacy of Christina Ashten, our family and the investigation no other details will be shared at this time.”
Dr. Michael K. Obeng, a board-certified plastic surgeon, told PEOPLE that most illegal injections are ‘made with silicone.’
“Most of these illegal injections are made with silicone, and silicone or any foreign substance can migrate within the body, which can lead to infection and hardness over time, deforming parts of the body,” Obeng said.
“And as with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream.”
“And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis [or dead tissue]. So that’s a huge danger,” Obeng added.
