A five-year-old girl is the youngest mother on record to ever give birth.
Lina Medina from Peru has startled audiences across the globe after it was revealed how the young child underwent a C-section to help deliver her newborn son.
The young girl delivered a healthy baby boy who weighed around 6 pounds. Officials claim that the event took place at the girl’s own village called Ticrapo in the Andes. Doctors had no other choice than to go ahead with the cesarean operation as the mother’s pelvis was too small to deliver the baby through natural means.
This harrowing story has been unveiled and unearthed thanks to her age-old medical records which date back to the year 1939 but have recently surfaced.
It has been reported that the child declined all-cash offers during her time when requested to share her story with the media. This includes turning down a record number of newspapers and reports who began to offer numerous incentives, just so they could break her story to the world.
During the time of her delivery, the child reportedly began crying and complaining to her mother because she felt intense stomach pains. Her mother, whose name was believed to be Victoria, took the child to the hospital where doctors at that time assumed she was suffering from a tumor.
But after a number of tests, it was finally revealed how she was actually seven months pregnant, sending shockwaves around her village.
Despite her young age, she managed to pull safely through, delivering a healthy baby boy who she named Gerardo. This was reportedly after the doctor who took part in delivering the child.
Soon, medics discovered how the child became pregnant because of a condition termed precocious puberty, which is when a child’s body undergoes the process of puberty at a very young age or prematurely.
Her mother revealed at that time how her daughter’s chest was fully developed by the age of four years old, and she even started having periods by the age of three.
Shockingly, the father of the baby still remains a huge mystery while some reports did suggest how Lina’s own father was once arrested on the suspicion of abuse. However, he was soon released due to a lack of evidence.
